The short version: By registering for any Equestrian 25 challenge, you agree to these terms. Each registration is per challenge only, is non-refundable once your challenge materials have been issued (subject to your statutory right to cancel within 14 days - see Section 4), and is entirely self-paced and voluntary. Safety is your responsibility at all times.
1. About Us
The Equestrian 25 Challenges is operated by FMD LLC, a company incorporated in the United States. Our challenges are designed for equestrians across the United Kingdom.
In these Terms and Conditions, "we", "us", and "our" refer to FMD Holdings, LLC trading as The Equestrian 25 Challenges. "You" refers to the person registering for and/or participating in a challenge.
If you have any questions about these terms, please contact us before registering:
Email: [email protected]
Facebook: facebook.com/Equestrian25Challenge
2. Acceptance of Terms
By completing registration and payment for any Equestrian 25 challenge, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions in full.
If you are registering on behalf of a participant under the age of 18, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of that participant and that you accept these terms on their behalf.
3. Registration and Payment
Each challenge requires a separate registration and payment. Registration for one challenge does not grant access to any other challenge, past or future, and does not constitute a subscription of any kind. You will never be charged again without completing a new registration.
The registration fee for each challenge is stated clearly on the relevant challenge registration page at the time of registration. All fees are listed in pounds sterling (GBP).
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By completing payment, you agree to Stripe's terms of service. We do not store your payment card details.
On successful payment, your challenge materials - including your activity list, log, or registration confirmation as applicable to the challenge - will be emailed to the address provided at registration. This delivery is considered immediate fulfilment of our primary obligation under your registration.
Not received your challenge materials? Please check your spam or junk folder first. If you still cannot find them, contact us at [email protected] or message us on our Facebook page and we will resend them to you promptly.
4. Your Right to Cancel
Under the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your registration within 14 calendar days of purchase, without giving a reason, provided you have not yet begun participating in the challenge.
How to cancel
To exercise your right to cancel, please complete the cancellation form at equestrian25challenges.co.uk/cancellation. We will acknowledge your request by email and process any refund due within 14 days.
When the right to cancel may not apply
Your right to cancel may be reduced or lost if you have begun participating in the challenge before the 14-day period has expired. By accessing your challenge materials and beginning to log activities, complete prompts, or record distance sessions, you are considered to have commenced the service. If you registered and began participating immediately, you acknowledged at checkout that this may affect your right to cancel.
Refunds on cancellation
If a valid cancellation request is received within the 14-day window and you have not yet begun participating, we will refund your registration fee in full to your original payment method within 14 days of receiving your request.
Changed your mind after participating? If you have already begun the challenge but are unable to continue due to exceptional circumstances such as illness, injury, or a serious change in your horse's health, please contact us at [email protected]. We will consider each situation on a case-by-case basis and do our best to find a fair solution.
5. Refund Policy
Outside of your statutory right to cancel (see Section 4), registration fees are non-refundable once your challenge materials have been issued and you have begun participating.
If you are unable to complete a challenge due to exceptional circumstances such as illness, injury, or a serious change in your horse's health, please contact us. We will consider each situation on a case-by-case basis and do our best to find a fair solution. We cannot guarantee a refund in any circumstance, but we will always listen.
To discuss your circumstances, please contact us at [email protected] or via our Facebook page. We aim to respond within 24 hours, Monday to Friday.
6. Challenge Participation
Eligibility
Our challenges are open to all ages. Participants under the age of 18 must have the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who must register on their behalf and accept these terms.
Honour System
All of our challenges operate entirely on the honour system. You are not required to submit photographic or video evidence of your participation. By confirming completion - whether via a submitted log, an email, or a message to us - you confirm that the activities, prompts, or distances described were genuinely completed.
Challenge Period
Each seasonal challenge has a defined start date, end date, and log submission deadline. These dates are clearly communicated at the time of registration and in your challenge materials. Activities or prompts completed outside of the stated challenge period may not be accepted.
Log Submission
To receive your finisher rosette, you must submit a completed log confirming which activities or prompts you completed. Logs must be submitted by the stated deadline. Late submissions may not be accepted, though we will always try to be reasonable where circumstances allow.
Rosette Delivery
Upon verification of your completed log (within 48 hours of submission), your finisher rosette will be posted via Royal Mail within 5 working days. We are not responsible for delays caused by postal services. If your rosette does not arrive within a reasonable time, please contact us and we will investigate.
Choosing Your Distance
When registering for a Distance Challenge, you select your target distance from the available options. Each distance is its own standalone registration. You may register for multiple distances, but each requires a separate registration and payment.
Completion Window
You have up to 12 months from your registration date to complete your chosen distance. If you would like to set yourself a shorter personal deadline for motivation - such as one month or three months - you may choose to do so at registration. This is entirely optional and does not alter the 12-month maximum.
Registrations not completed within 12 months of the registration date will be closed. A new registration would be required to continue working toward that distance.
Logging Your Distance
Your chosen distance may be accumulated across as many rides, drives, or in-hand sessions as you like. There is no single-session requirement. All disciplines are welcome - ridden, in hand, carriage driving, and arena work all count equally toward your total. You may also switch freely between horses throughout your challenge.
There is no required method of distance tracking. A handwritten note, a phone app, or a time-based estimate are all equally acceptable. We trust you entirely.
Notifying Completion
When you have reached your target distance, please let us know using any of the following:
- The contact form at equestrian25challenges.co.uk/contactus
- Email at [email protected]
- A message via our Facebook page
You are welcome to share photographs or screenshots of your distances if you wish, but these are never required. We operate on the honour system and your word is enough.
Rosette Delivery
Once we have received your completion notification, your custom Distance Challenge rosette will be posted via Royal Mail within 5 working days. We are not responsible for delays caused by postal services. If your rosette does not arrive within a reasonable time, please contact us and we will investigate.
7. Safety and Personal Responsibility
Safety is your responsibility at all times. Working with horses carries inherent risk. By participating in any Equestrian 25 challenge, you accept full responsibility for your own safety and the safety of those around you.
You agree to:
- Use good judgement at all times when working with or around horses
- Never attempt any activity that is beyond your own or your horse's current level of ability or training
- Wear appropriate safety equipment, including a correctly fitted riding hat where applicable
- Ensure that any activity involving children or young people is appropriately supervised by a responsible adult
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and codes of practice relating to equestrian activity in your region
We strongly recommend that all participants hold appropriate personal accident insurance and that horses are covered by suitable equine insurance. We do not provide insurance of any kind as part of challenge registration.
FMD LLC, trading as The Equestrian 25 Challenges, accepts no liability for any injury, accident, loss, or damage - to person, horse, or property - arising from participation in any of our challenges.
8. Photographs and User Content
You are never required to share photographs or videos with us. Your images are your own private memories.
If you choose to share photographs with us - via email, Facebook, or any other means - you grant FMD LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use those images on our website, social media pages, and marketing materials. We will always use initials rather than full names when attributing images, and we will never share photographs featuring children without the explicit consent of a parent or guardian.
If you wish to have a previously shared image removed, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on our website - including challenge prompts, activity lists, written content, design elements, and branding - is the property of FMD LLC and is protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any of our content for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.
Our challenge prompts and materials are provided for personal, non-commercial use only. They may not be shared, resold, or redistributed.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, FMD LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage arising from your participation in any of our challenges or your use of our website.
Our total liability to you in connection with any challenge shall not exceed the registration fee paid by you for that challenge.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
11. Changes to Challenges
We reserve the right to make reasonable amendments to challenge rules, dates, or materials where necessary. We will always communicate any significant changes to registered participants by email as soon as possible.
In the unlikely event that a challenge is cancelled entirely, we will contact all registered participants and discuss options on a case-by-case basis.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued participation in any challenge following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
We recommend reviewing these terms before registering for each new challenge.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States applicable to FMD LLC. However, as our challenges are operated for UK participants, we also endeavour to comply with applicable UK consumer protection law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 where relevant.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under applicable UK law.
