Challenge Rules
The rules are simple — this challenge is built on trust, inclusivity, and fun. Please read through before you begin.
-
1Registration required. You must register and pay the £20 entry fee before taking part. Once registered, your full list of 130 activities will be emailed to you instantly, with thorough instructions for every single one.
-
2Complete any 25 of the 130 activities. You choose which 25 you'd like to complete, in any order, at any time during the challenge period. [Start Date] to [End Date] 2026.
-
3Honour system. We run entirely on trust. As you complete each activity, keep a note of what you've done — use our official log form (emailed to you on registration), write a list in a notebook, jot it down on your phone, or use any other method that works for you. You do not need to provide proof or photos to us. We trust our participants completely.
-
4Your horse should be involved. Each activity should be completed with your horse, whether you are riding, driving, working in-hand, or simply spending time together at the yard.
-
5Multiple horses are welcome. If you have more than one horse, you may complete activities with different horses across the challenge.
-
6All disciplines count equally. Riding, driving, carriage driving, groundwork, in-hand work, and ground driving all count. There is no hierarchy — if it is your horse time, it counts.
-
7You are welcome to complete more than 25. Many of our participants enjoy the challenge so much they work through far more than the required 25. You are absolutely welcome to do as many as you like.
-
8Submit your log by the deadline. Once you've completed your 25 activities, submit your log by [Log Deadline] 2026. You can submit via our online form, by email to [email protected], or via Facebook Messenger. Simply let us know which 25 activities you completed.
-
9One rosette per registration. Each registered participant receives one finisher rosette upon verified completion, regardless of how many horses they used or how many activities they completed.
-
10Safety first, always. Please ensure all activities are carried out safely and responsibly. We trust our participants to use good judgement around their horses and surroundings at all times.
-
11Have fun. This challenge is about slowing down, being present with your horse, and celebrating the small moments. Enjoy it.
Got a Question?
Here are the questions we get asked most often. If yours isn't here, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
We run entirely on trust. You do not need to send us photos, videos, or any other evidence. As you complete each activity, simply keep a note of what you've done — use our official log form, write a list in a notebook, note it on your phone, or whatever works best for you. When you have your 25, send us your list and we will post your rosette. We trust our participants completely.
Absolutely. Loan riders, share riders, and lesson riders are all very welcome. As long as you have regular access to a horse, you can take part.
Not at all. Riding, driving, carriage driving, groundwork, in-hand work, and ground driving all count equally. There is no hierarchy in this challenge — if it is your horse time, it counts.
Yes, you can complete activities with as many horses as you like across the challenge period.
Yes, absolutely. Many of our participants enjoy the challenge so much they work through far more than 25. You are very welcome to complete as many of the 130 activities as you like. Just remember that you only need 25 to qualify for your rosette.
Yes — every single one of the 130 activities comes with thorough instructions to give you ideas and guide you through. Even if something is unfamiliar, don't be put off. The instructions are there to help, and no prior experience is needed for any activity on the list.
And if you'd like a visual, YouTube is your best friend! If you're not sure how to do something — liberty work, clicker training, carrot stretches, stable bandaging, anything at all — just search for a how-to video and you'll find plenty of clear, free guidance to help you along.
There is no set format. You do not have to use our official log form. Simply let us know which 25 activities you completed, however works best for you — a typed list, a handwritten note, a photo of your notes, our official checklist, a spreadsheet, or anything else. We accept PDF, JPG, PNG, and Word documents.
You can submit your log in whichever way suits you best:
Via our online submission form, by email to [email protected], or by sending us a message on Facebook Messenger.
Logs must be submitted by [Log Deadline] 2026. Late submissions may not be accepted, so please make sure you get yours in before the deadline.
Once your log has been verified (within 48 hours of submission), your rosette will be posted via Royal Mail within 5 working days. You can expect it to arrive within 7 to 10 days of submitting your log.
Yes, the challenge is open to all ages. Younger participants should be supervised by a responsible adult at all times when working with or around horses.
Good news — there are well over 25 activities on this list that can be completed entirely at the stable or from the yard without your horse needing to move a foot. Grooming, bonding, enrichment, care, creative, educational, and planning activities can all be done with a horse on box rest, making this challenge genuinely accessible even during a rest period.
